Cambridge Wind Band has a reputation for providing enjoyable high-quality music and have performed at various venues including West Road Concert Hall, Audley End and Windsor Castle. Helping improve accessibility and enjoyment to music is at the heart of every performance.

Cambridge Wind Band formed in 2012, with a vision to support worthy causes and charities. This concert is to help support people struggling with vision and/or hearing loss, both key senses much valued by musicians.

Ticket prices are £15 with net proceeds donated to Deafblind UK.

Most of you will be familiar with Oli's story. Oli was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (a malignant Grade IV brain tumour) aged 22 and given 12 months to live. He fought the disease for nearly five years with characteristic optimism, running the London Marathon in under 4 hours and raising £60,000 for brain tumour research, working full time in a job he loved, travelling the world and getting married. He finally succumbed to his condition in January 2019, just 10 days before his 27th birthday.

The Oli Hilsdon Foundation was set up in his loving memor. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer yet receives just 3% of the national spend on cancer research. Every penny you donate goes towards our goal of raising awareness and funding research projects to advance our goal into defeating Glioblastoma Multiforme.

"Ball Games for Billy" has run been running for five years and is, all in all, "a great day" (quote James Savage). Expect football, touch rugby, BBQ & the main event, an auction MC'd by local celebrity double-act Trev & Spence.

Please arrive at the Pembroke Sports Ground in Grantchester Meadows from 11AM (CB3 9ED, map below). There's some public on-street parking nearby for those coming by car - head to Grantchester Meadows.

Food, drink, music and games will be going all day. We'll confirm info for the football and rugby knock-out tournaments closer to the time. The auction will kick off around 5pm, once the sport is finished. Drinks and snacks available through the evening until carriages at 8pm.

Friends, family, kids all very welcome, so please spread the word! And see you on Saturday to play Ball Games for the Oli Hilsdon Foundation!
